Existing Routes & Revised Layout
Existing water, drainage, and vent routes are reviewed alongside the revised room layout. The new pipe paths are coordinated with cabinetry, structural framing, retained finishes, and access for future service.
Explore the plumbing routes behind a reimagined home. Ten illustrated stages follow water, drain, and vent reconfiguration through planning, installation, protection, testing, and completed fixture connections.

Existing water, drainage, and vent routes are reviewed alongside the revised room layout. The new pipe paths are coordinated with cabinetry, structural framing, retained finishes, and access for future service.
Affected water lines are isolated before obsolete branches are disconnected. Temporary closures protect the remaining connections while removed pipework is separated from the system and the new routes are prepared.
Independent hot and cold lines are routed through the opened wall to the revised service positions. Blocking, pipe clamps, and protection at vulnerable penetrations keep the installation coordinated with the framing.
Branch connections distribute water from a supply trunk toward the revised fixture groups. The layout is coordinated with the required demand, available pressure, material, and approved pipe sizing.
The revised drainage route follows an accessible floor bay, using drainage fittings and supports while preserving the surrounding structure. The branch is coordinated with the new fixture connection and the downstream system.
The vent route rises from the fixture-drain connection and is adjusted within the available solid wall space. A high offset illustrates coordination with the framing while maintaining the required vent arrangement.
Supports and protective plates are installed where the route requires them, and hot-water insulation is completed around the pipe and fittings. The assembly remains accessible while the remaining rough work is coordinated.
A water-fed test pump and gauge illustrate hydrostatic testing of the rerouted copper supply circuit. Accessible connections are checked under the test conditions required for the actual project.
The reconfigured drain and vent connections are reviewed while the wall remains open. Fitted closures protect the rough openings, and cleanout access, support, and the required testing and inspection sequence are coordinated.
Once finishes and fixtures are installed, the affected connections are checked for water delivery, drainage, and leakage. Accessible shutoffs and serviceable drain joints support the completed room layout.
