Preparation & kitchen fixtures

Fixture Preparation & Product Coordination

The selected fixtures, mounting parts, connectors, and instructions are reviewed before installation. Work surfaces are protected while the new products are coordinated with the completed cabinetry and prepared plumbing outlets.

Key consideration · Use compatible components and follow the selected fixture and appliance installation instructions.
Preparation & kitchen fixtures

Kitchen Sink & Faucet Connections

The sink and faucet connect to the prepared water and drainage outlets. Separate supply connectors reach accessible shutoff valves, and a serviceable rigid trap connects the sink waste to the wall drain.

Key consideration · Secure the fixture and check accessible joints for leakage while preserving access to shutoffs and drain fittings.
Appliance water & drain connections

Dishwasher Drainage & Air-Gap Connection

The dishwasher discharge connects to an air-gap fitting above the sink flood rim. A separate outlet hose routes from that fitting to the designated sink tailpiece branch above the trap, with the hose connections secured as specified.

Key consideration · California kitchen guidance requires an approved dishwasher air gap; a hose high loop alone does not replace it.
Appliance water & drain connections

Refrigerator Water & Ice-Maker Hookup

The refrigerator water connection is made using an appropriate supply line and accessible shutoff. The line is routed with gentle slack so it remains clear of sharp edges, pinch points, and the appliance wheels.

Key consideration · Follow the appliance requirements for supply pressure, connectors, flushing, and final positioning.
Appliance water & drain connections

Washing Machine Supply & Discharge

The selected two-inlet washer connects to separate hot and cold supplies. Its discharge hose is supported at an open standpipe, maintaining the required air break and keeping the drain independent of the water connectors.

Key consideration · Secure the hose and follow the appliance instructions and local standpipe requirements; do not seal the discharge connection airtight.
Bathroom fixture installation

Bathroom Basin, Faucet & Trap

The bathroom basin and faucet are connected within the finished vanity. Separate supply hoses, accessible shutoffs, and a serviceable trap are arranged so the connections can be checked and maintained.

Key consideration · Coordinate the faucet and waste assembly with the basin, and keep the cabinet clear of strain on the connections.
Bathroom fixture installation

Toilet Flange, Seal & Setting

The toilet is aligned with the secured flange, mounting hardware, and selected seal before being lowered into position. Final fastening and the water connection follow the fixture installation instructions.

Key consideration · Coordinate the flange underside with the finished floor and use the specified seal; avoid overtightening the china.
Bathroom fixture installation

Shower Trim & Control Installation

The finished trim and handle are fitted to the compatible shower valve. The assembly is secured and sealed according to the product instructions, with operation and temperature-control checks coordinated afterward.

Key consideration · Trim must match the installed protective valve; its appearance alone does not establish temperature performance.
Bathroom fixture installation

Freestanding Tub & Filler Installation

The tub and filler are secured to their prepared connections and mounting assemblies. The fixed spout remains above the tub flood rim, while the drain and supply joints follow the selected fixture arrangement.

Key consideration · Coordinate anchorage, service access, and the applicable temperature and backflow protection for the tub and filler.
Functional checks & handover

Final Fixture Operation & Connection Checks

The installed fixtures are checked for normal water delivery, drainage, and leakage at accessible joints. Appliance connections and operating cycles are reviewed as applicable, followed by remaining adjustments and required final inspection.

Key consideration · This illustration shows functional checks, not an inspection approval or a documented performance result.

Planned for California projects

These AI-generated images illustrate fixture and appliance installation during a remodel; they are not a photographic record of one renovation or completed Omega projects. Actual work follows the applicable California codes, approved plans, product instructions, and local amendments.

California code & project considerations
  • Confirm the applicable permit and code requirements, use compatible products, and follow their installation instructions for mounting, connections, clearances, and operation.
  • Keep fixture and appliance shutoffs accessible and route supply connectors without damaging strain or kinks. Maintain service access to drain joints and connections that require it.
  • Current California kitchen guidance cites CPC §807.3 for an approved dishwasher air gap above the sink flood rim. Route the dishwasher discharge to the air-gap inlet and its outlet to the designated drainage connection; a high loop alone is insufficient.
  • Connect the washer discharge to the required open receptor or standpipe with an air break. Coordinate standpipe, trap, and vent arrangements with the approved installation.
  • Set the toilet on the approved flange and seal, coordinated with the finished floor, and secure it according to the fixture instructions.
  • Match shower trim to the installed protective valve. Coordinate the temperature checks, tub filler anchorage, fixed-spout air gap, and any required backflow protection.
  • Check affected fixtures and appliances for normal operation and accessible-joint leakage. Photographs cannot establish an inspection pass or full product compliance.
